Blurb~

Half-fae Lenox Pendry is surrounded by secrets and none are his to keep. Plucked from his mother’s arms as an infant and raised a changeling, Lenox grows to adulthood unaware of what and who he is and oblivious to the danger unfolding as his birthday draws near. After he’s unwittingly sent to the Scottish Lowlands out of harm’s way, he chances to meet a beautiful healer named Janet Roxburgh. The townspeople believe her to be a witch. It would appear Janet has a few secrets of her own.

Setting the Stage~
Lenox stops at an Inn in the Scottish Lowlands and there's excitement upstairs as a baby is born to the innkeeper's wife. When the midwife descends the stairs, Lenox suddenly feels Cupid's arrow.

My 10~
Shortly after, an angel descended the staircase. I lost the ability to breathe as an unidentifiable tingle swept me from head to toe.
She was quite fair with skin like fine oriental porcelain and features feminine and delicate. She was willowy and tall, taller than most women of my acquaintance and several of the men here, and I briefly wondered if she owed her height and coloring to Viking blood from the northern conquests generations before. I couldn’t determine the color of her eyes from where I sat, but her hair was so light a shade of blond my eye had to strain to be sure it wasn’t white. It was braided and in that plait, fell well below her hips. Unbound it might very well come close to the floor. The curl at the end and the sweat-damp ringlets framing her face suggested a natural wave. A fanciful image took me as I imagined what it might be like to sink my hands into the moonlit silk. She laughed at something someone said, and the genuine sound made me smile.

 5 Stars for The Changeling!
"Secrets abound as the story continues. I don’t want to retell the story here and this is already long enough. Suffice it to say this is a very well written, engaging, story with all sorts of deeper historical tidbits and storylines involving the characters, their family lines, and the townsfolk culture. Scenes are written vividly with date and culture appropriate dialogue that overall made this a delightful read right down the satisfying ending that ties all the pieces together."

  1. Thanks for the blurb, I really enjoyed reading it. Lenox sounds like an interesting character.
